Tank-truck unloading is a sequence of visible actions, not one camera event. The truck enters the unloading area. People work around the vehicle. Wheel chocks, grounding equipment, and hose connections may need to be visible at defined points in the process. The surrounding area also has its own risks, including smoking, phone use, smoke, flame, and a vehicle that should not be in the unloading zone.

What the camera can check

Vehicle and zone status

The system can identify a tank truck entering a configured unloading area and flag a non-operating vehicle that remains there. The site should define its own vehicle categories, access periods, and temporary arrangements. License plates can support review at suitable entry views, though the safety event should not depend on plate readability.

Visible preparation items

Where a grounding lead, static-discharge sign, wheel chock, hose connection, or designated operating position has a clear and stable view, the system can create a review item when the expected visible state is absent or changed. Camera placement is decisive. A small lead hidden behind a worker or truck body cannot be confirmed reliably from a distant overview camera.

Personnel and fire-risk events

Smoking, phone use, smoke, flame, duty absence, and restricted-area entry can be configured around the unloading zone. These video events support site response. They do not replace gas detection, electrical grounding measurement, fire systems, operating procedures, or the safety controls already required on the site.

A practical deployment sequence

Start with one representative station. The station team confirms its unloading stages and what must be visible. The project team reviews each camera view, then configures regions, time periods, event intervals, and evidence fields. Run the system through real operations before copying the layout to another station. A full-scene image and a close event image should both be available for important records.

Separate close or secondary views may be needed where the project wants to review a small item, a hose position, a wheel chock, or other detail that cannot be judged from a wide scene.

Turn procedure steps into observable rules

Define the arrival, authorised stopping area, work period, exclusion zone, visible items, smoking or phone-use restrictions, and any vehicle movement rule. Each item should be stated as a visible condition with an agreed alert or review response; a camera cannot verify a step it cannot see.

Use event evidence for supervision

A record can combine a wide image, a detail image, timestamp, camera name, configured zone, event type, and associated video. This supports post-event review and helps distinguish a genuine procedure deviation from a short transition or partial view.

Keep the scope technically honest

Camera analytics can assist the observation of visible activity. It cannot independently confirm electrical continuity, grounding quality, valve state, product transfer status, or other process conditions outside the image. Site safety procedures and approved inspection methods remain essential.
