Vehicle parking, route, and plate events require separate checks

A project can see a vehicle, judge that it occupies a defined area, and read a license plate only when the camera view supports each of those tasks. These are related capabilities, but they have different framing, image-detail, timing, and validation requirements.

Use a wide view for the rule and a close view for the plate

A wide camera can show a parking zone, fire route, entry lane, or wrong-way movement. Plate OCR needs a more controlled view of the plate at a usable size, angle, and exposure. Large vehicles, headlight glare, motion blur, dirt, occlusion, and night conditions should be assessed separately.

Define what makes a stop a violation

Specify the controlled region, permitted route, vehicle type, dwell time, direction, approved exceptions, and time schedule. A vehicle stopping briefly for a normal operation may not be equivalent to a prolonged obstruction. The rule should reflect the site traffic process.

Handle plate results with confidence information

Event records can retain the vehicle image, full-scene image, time, location, rule, OCR result, and recognition confidence or empty result. Systems that forward plate data should preserve the image evidence and allow the receiving platform to handle uncertain or unavailable readings safely.

Test daytime, night, and site-specific vehicles

Commissioning should include the actual vehicle classes, travel speed, plate formats, lighting, weather, and mounting positions at the site. A result obtained on a clear passenger car view should not be assumed for heavy equipment, obscured plates, or very different plate designs.
